It's a Hats World

Not long ago my mother shared with me her biggest fear concerning her daughter’s graduation – she did not have a fancy hat a la Philip Treacy for the ceremony. The panic attack was soon over, but I kept thinking about the importance of hats in British society. Just in time came my discovery of this tiny hat shop, which celebrates the millinery tradition and craftsmanship. Recently opened in Mayfair, the boutique is dedicated entirely to hats. I had the chance to briefly chat with one of the representatives of the Dutch brand, which has boutiques in both Amsterdam and Dusseldorf. Some of the pieces, which were on display, were specially created by Royal College of Art graduates Soren Bach, Justin Smith and Noel Steward. After half an hour’s considerations of getting myself a lovely panama hat, I left the store empty handed, but knowing I will be back pretty soon.
